How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel your subscription from Competely directly. You don't need to go through Stripe.

  1. Sign in to Competely and open the Billing & Plan page.
  2. Select Cancel Subscription. This opens the cancellation page in Competely (not the Stripe portal).
  3. Pick a reason for leaving and add a short note. Select Continue.
  4. On the next screen, Competely may show alternatives that fit your reason, like pausing for a few months or a one-time discount. Pick one of those if it works for you, or select Continue cancellation to keep going.
  5. Confirm the cancellation. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period. No further charges are made after that.

You'll get a confirmation email from Stripe once the cancellation is recorded.

A few things worth knowing:

  • Want to pause instead? The pause option appears in step 4. See how do I pause my subscription?.
  • Want to keep your projects without paying? Cancellation stops future charges, but creating or running analyses requires an active subscription. Old analyses stay viewable.
  • Want to downgrade rather than cancel? Use Change Plan instead. See how do I change my plan?.
  • Want your data deleted too? Cancel first. Account-deletion requests are separate and handled by support.

If you have a team (Scale plan): if you added teammates, cancelling or downgrading off the Scale plan disables team features for everyone. Each former member then only sees the projects they personally created, and each person needs their own subscription to keep using Competely. If the owner resubscribes to Scale later, team membership is restored. (If you're on Scale on your own and never added teammates, none of this applies.)
