Why haven't I received a brief?

Briefs go out on a schedule (weekly, every 2 weeks, or monthly depending on your plan and project). If one didn't arrive when you expected, walk through these in order:

  1. Check the brief frequency for the project. From the Dashboard, open the project, go to step 4 Monitoring, and confirm Send isn't set to Off. See how often are briefs sent?.
  2. Check your inbox and spam folder. Search for Competitive Brief and check Updates, Promotions, and Spam, and any filters that might move the message.
  3. Confirm your email is on the recipient list. Step 4 Monitoring lists the recipients for that project. If you're not there, add yourself. See who gets the brief emails?.
  4. Check whether anything material changed. If Monitoring found no meaningful changes on the competitors' sites since the last run, the brief is skipped for that cycle. That's by design, not a delivery problem. See what does Monitoring track?.
  5. Check past briefs in the app. From the Dashboard, open the project and go to step 4 Monitoring to see past briefs. If they're listed but didn't email, that's a delivery issue we'd want to know about.

If none of that explains it, contact us with the project link and the date you expected the brief, and we'll look into it.
