Does the AI make mistakes?
Sometimes, yes. Competely's analysis is generated by AI reading public web data, and like any AI it can occasionally get things wrong. The most common cases:
- A suggested competitor isn't quite right, or a real one is missed.
- A detail is outdated because the source page changed after we read it.
- A company with little public information has sparse or generic entries.
We design around this in two ways: every data point links to its original source so you can verify it, and you can re-run the analysis after refining your inputs. Treat the analysis as a fast, well-sourced first draft of your competitive landscape, then verify the points that matter most before you act on them.
To set up for a sharper analysis, lead with a URL when you have one and pick competitors deliberately rather than relying only on suggestions. See tips for a sharper analysis.
